TWO THINGS:
a) In regards to the previous, friends-locked post, basically it's Status Quo for right now, and since I dig "Pictures of Matchstick Men", I'm fine with that.

B) [info]spasmsproject did an interview meme! Here it is:

Their reply was:

1) Can you imagine yourself as a father?

I think so. I actually would like to have one kid. But just one. Since, I don't know, more seems weird. Perhaps that's just because I'm an only child. I don't know. But I'd like that. I WOULD LIKE TO SIRE A LITTLE GIRL

2) Truth or dare?

Truth, because if worse comes to worst, you can always lie!

3) Are you, or have you ever been, or do you ever intend to be, in this
nation or in any other, with the understanding that you are speaking
under oath and anything you say may be used against you, a marmoset?
Answer carefully.

No. Though they are pretty adorable.

4) Do you believe in a god?

Nope! It's just never really made sense to me, so there you have it. However, I don't particularly care if other people do, as being so hung up on what other people believe is not only silly, but kind of unattractive no matter the side of the fence it's coming from.

5) What about Naomi?

I like that song a lot. And the name, too, actually.

I still like Camper Van Beethoven's cover (of "Pictures of Matchstick Men") slightly more than the original, even though it's a pretty close cover.

...truthfully, I do too, actually. Even though I know it's not, I tend to think of THAT one as the real one. And, I don't know, the Status Quo one as a weird cover or something, I don't know.

I think for me, it's the violin doing the riff. That's awesome.

Yeah, it's really hard to imagine it WITHOUT the violin sometimes. :D

Another one child advantage: a single child does not have the net din potential of two (or more) children making unhappy noises in a car. This point was driven home to me today when my 4-week-old niece started exercising her lungs, leading her two-year-old brother to imitate her (kind of funny, but loud) and Laurel to pinch the bridge of her nose and mutter loudly about not liking babies anymore.

You could always put them in a noise band! Maybe pitch-lower the vocals so people wouldn't realize it was babies. That'd be actually pretty awesome.

Non-replacement procreation is the best.

Random idea dump! It occured to me while reading The Third Chimpanzee that concealed ovulation must have evolved after frontal-lobe expansion in humans, because smart women can still fucking count. Maybe there's some logic I'm missing. Like rape. Rape logic.
Rev. Syung Myung Me[info]revme on June 29th, 2008 02:24 am (UTC)
Rape logic? Is that like:
If all Rapes are Xs
and All Xs are Zs
Then all Rapes are Zs?

hahh, actually, I was -- the song by the Mr. T Experience; it's all poppy and organy and awesome even though it's Dr. Frank gettin' a Hate-On for Naomi Klein.
chelsea the mod pixie[info]modpixie on July 11th, 2008 01:06 pm (UTC)
oh! okay. i do not listen to the mr. t experience.

jeff mangum makes my world go 'round, so.

BTW, i hope you don't think it's weird that i'm reading your back pages -- i always do this when i make a new LJ-friend. i'm preventing myself from saying anything in the tim and eric/dreadful dresden dolls post, as i have nothing good to say about either...but i don't want you to think i'm a boor.
Rev. Syung Myung Me[info]revme on July 11th, 2008 01:23 pm (UTC)
Nope! It's fine by me! I often do that too, actually so there you go!

And perhaps you'd like Tim & Eric more if Eric hit you in the face with a hot dog? Actually, I already liked them before, so, I don't know.
